My role
I am an External Affairs Advisor at the United Kingdom Accreditation Service, UKAS, the UK’s National Accreditation Body. My main responsibilities include gathering political intelligence relating to key areas of focus, engaging with government and wider stakeholders on the value of accreditation, and working with our national quality infrastructure partners to provide confidence in products and services. Accreditation provides trust and confidence in conformity assessment activity across a broad range of sectors, with the sustainability sector being a key focus.
My passions
I am passionate about ensuring the correct tools are being utilised to provide trust and confidence in products and services that everyone relies upon. It is vital that end-users, businesses and government can be assured that products and services that they are using are in-line with international best practice. From this I am motivated by the opportunity to grow and create a positive impact in a fast-evolving environment.
My career journey
I joined UKAS in 2024 after graduating from university with a BA(Hons) in Criminal Justice and Criminology, and MSc in Political Sociology. Although these may seem very different to my current role at UKAS, I have always been driven by social justice and working in the public interest.
