My role
I am a Coastal Analyst at JBA Consulting, where I primarily support clients in developing coastal adaptation plans. My work focuses on helping organisations understand and respond to the risks posed by climate change, particularly in coastal areas, but I also contribute to wider climate resilience projects across various sectors.
I collaborate with a wide range of teams across the organisation and work closely with clients in both the public and private sectors, including local councils and golf courses, to build practical, long-term solutions. My role involves blending technical analysis with strategic thinking to support decision-making and increase resilience to future climate risks.
My passions
I am passionate about making a difference by helping clients and communities adapt to the impacts of climate change, especially in coastal environments. What drives me is the chance to grow, create real impact, and keep learning in a fast-evolving field. I am motivated by the opportunity to deliver meaningful, place-based adaptation and to support others working in this space. Ultimately, I want to contribute to a sector that’s not only technically strong but also collaborative, inclusive, and focused on practical, real-world outcomes.
My career journey
I graduated with a First-Class BSc Honours in Environmental Science in 2022, which sparked my interest in the ways climate change impacts people and places. After university, I joined a local authority, where I worked on an innovative project focused on developing adaptation options to help coastal communities respond to the challenges posed by climate change. During this time, I also co-led the Flood and Coastal Innovation Early Careers Network, which gave me the opportunity to collaborate with others and support the development of early-career professionals across the sector—something I found incredibly rewarding. I finished this role in early 2025 and took a short break to travel around Southeast Asia before starting my current position as a Coastal Analyst in April. Over this period, I’ve built experience in coastal risk assessment, climate adaptation planning, stakeholder engagement, and supporting economic appraisals for coastal projects. Looking ahead, I’m excited to take on more responsibility, leading projects, and helping clients to deliver real, ‘on-the-ground’ action that makes a meaningful difference at the coast.
